Gates and Railings
Shoregate - Shoreham by Sea.
The client lives in a modernist styled property on Shoreham beach, they wanted a gate that made a link between the reeds and grasses of the beach and the rectangular geometry of the house. Working with flat and square section steel bar a gate was made that reflected the movement of the grasses in the wind.
Images show the gates in production prior to being galvanised.
Rolling Downs Gate and Railing
Inspired by the rolling landscape of the Sussex Downs and providing a line for passing children to follow with their fingers as they walk to school. Galvanised steel.
Sample Box Gate
The client had seen the collections / sample boxes Steven makes and wanted a gate to fit with the existing railings that captured the qualities of the boxes. Galvanised and painted steel.
Gate proposals for the plaza area at Greater Brighton Metropolitan College
In my role as Programme Lead for the 3D pathway on the UAL Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Art & Design (Nov 2016- Jan 2022) I worked on a project with the 3D Foundation Diploma students, Landscape Architects Terra Firma Consultancy Ltd and ECE Architects on designs for the college grounds as part of the development of the collages Pelham Street site. Students produced scaled models and design proposals for gates around the site inspired by the location and its history. the proposals were formally presented to the design team. Below are images of work developed with the students.
